Where is Chichen Itza, Yucatan, Mexico located?Chichen Itza is located southeast of the capital of Yucatan, Merida, (approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes away by car) and southwest of Cancun, Quintana Roo (approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes by car) along Toll Highway 180-D. Back to TopWhat airports are the nearest to Chichen Itza?The two international airports nearest to Chichen Itza are Cancun International Airport (airport code: CUN) and Merida International Airport (airport code: MID). Private chartered flights can fly into the Kahua airport and land with special permission only. Back to TopDoes Chichen Services offer airport or hotel transfers?We do offer transfer services from the airports in Cancun & Merida or hotel by request only. There are a couple of other transportation options: renting a car, taking public transportation, or arrange to hire a taxi driver from Piste (through us) to go pick you up at the airport for a fee. Driving in the Yucatan Peninsula is very safe and easy; feel free to contact us for more information and driving directions. Public transportation is very reliable and is available from both Cancun and Merida; Cancun's airport offers a shuttle to the bus station from which you can catch a bus to the village of Piste (just one mile outside of Chichen Itza). Back to TopCan I spend the day at Chichen Itza during my day at port in either Progresso, Yucatan or Cozumel, Quintana Roo?We do not suggest that you spend your day at port trying to get to Chichen Itza, as there is not enough time to really enjoy the site once you do finally get there. We are by no means saying it is not possible, just not satisfactory.

However, if you wish to join the MFIL Yucatan volunteer team, we will be happy to help you arrange your social volunteer service to help the Mayan communities this NGO non-profit Sustainable Civil Society conducts near Chichen Itza, Yucatan, Mexico As a proud sponsor of the Maya Foundation In Laakeech, Chichen Services is glad to help individuals who can volunteer "on-site in Yucatan's MFIL Mayan communities;" MFIL requires a minimum period of at least two consecutive weeks. Hacienda Chichen Resort donates rooming to all approved MFIL Maya community volunteers, while Chichen Services donates light daily lunches to all approved MFIL volunteers that stay over a three weeks period in the region. Back to TopHow do I secure my Chichen Services reservation?All Chichen Services reservations must be pre-paid prior to arriving at the hotel. A non-refundable deposit of 10% is due approximately 2 to 10 days after a confirmation has been issued by Chichen Services via email, depending on the proximity of your arrival date; if your arrival date is within 10 days of receiving your confirmation number, your full payment will be due earlier. Back to TopWhat are your cancellation and no-show policies?All our reservations require a non-refundable 10% deposit in order to secure a reservation. All cancellations must be received and confirmed via email. Failure to check-in at the hotel associated with your purchase by the arrival date will be considered a "no-show" and you therefore will void any refund. Reductions of your stay within 7 days of arrival date will incur a penalty charge of one night plus taxes. We have varying cancellation policies depending

Reservations confirmed thirteen (13) days or more prior to arrival date will require a non-refundable ten (10%) deposit within twenty-four (24) hours of invoice receipt and must be paid in full fifteen (15) days prior to confirmed arrival date. Reservations confirmed within twelve (12) days prior to arrival date are non-refundable. Cancellations within eight (8) days prior to arrival date will incur a penalty charge of one (1) night, plus tax, per room. Failure to check-in at the hotel associated with your purchase by the arrival date will be considered a "no-show" and you, therefore, will void any refund. Hotel does not allow partial cancellations or reductions of your stay, also referred to as "early check-out", within ten (10) days prior to arrival date; all reductions must be received in writing via email prior to the deadline in order to avoid penalty charges. Back to TopDo I need a PayPal account in order to pay for my Chichen Services' reservation?You do not need a PayPal account in order to pay for any emailed invoice from Chichen Services. By clicking on the link provided in the invoice email, you can choose to continue payment without logging into or signing up for PayPal. Another option available to select clients, please ask if you qualify, is to pay via a personal check from an United States bank or money order.
